Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Celvara, our formulations, and your order.
GHK-Cu, also known as Copper Tripeptide-1, is one of the most extensively studied peptides in modern cosmetic science. It was first discovered in human plasma in 1973 by biochemist Dr. Loren Pickart and has since been the subject of over 50 years of peer-reviewed research. Your body produces GHK-Cu naturally — but levels begin declining in your late twenties and drop significantly by your forties. The visible signs of aging you see in the mirror are partly a story of your GHK-Cu levels telling you something has changed. In skincare, GHK-Cu is prized for its ability to support collagen and elastin production, strengthen the skin barrier, promote a firmer and more even skin appearance, and support the skin's natural recovery process. At Celvara we use a verified GHK-Cu concentration confirmed by third-party Certificate of Analysis, because we believe you deserve to know exactly what's in your skincare — not a vague proprietary blend with no accountability.
Most copper peptide products on the market share three common problems: they hide their actual GHK-Cu concentration behind proprietary blend language, they use synthetic silicone or water-based formulas that create a barrier between the active ingredient and your skin, and they fail to protect peptide stability during production, shipping, and storage. Celvara was built to solve all three. We state our exact GHK-Cu concentration on every label and verify it with a third-party Certificate of Analysis. We use a 100% grass-fed tallow base — chosen because tallow closely mirrors the fatty acid profile of human skin sebum, allowing complete absorption with zero silicone residue. And we combine GHK-Cu with a powerful supporting cast of clinically recognized ingredients — Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 for collagen signaling, Hydrolyzed Collagen for barrier support, Hyaluronic Acid for deep hydration, Niacinamide for skin tone and barrier function, Stephania Tetrandra Root Extract for its anti-inflammatory properties, and Calendula Extract for soothing and skin-calming benefits. The result is a multi-peptide, multi-active formula built on a clean tallow base that absorbs fully and delivers verified active ingredients every single time.
COA stands for Certificate of Analysis — a document issued by an independent third-party laboratory that confirms exactly what is in a product and at what concentration. Most skincare brands never publish their COA because doing so would reveal that their active ingredient is present in trace amounts far below what is effective. At Celvara every production batch is third-party tested and assigned a lot number. Our COA confirms the verified GHK-Cu concentration in your specific jar. You can request the COA for your lot number by emailing us at info@celvaralabs.com with your order number. We believe transparency is not a marketing claim — it is a baseline standard every skincare brand should meet.
Tallow is rendered animal fat — in our case sourced exclusively from 100% grass-fed cattle. It has been used in skincare for centuries and is experiencing a well-deserved resurgence in the clean beauty community. The reason tallow works so exceptionally well as a skincare base comes down to biology — tallow's fatty acid profile is remarkably similar to the natural sebum your skin produces. This means your skin recognizes it, absorbs it rapidly and completely, and does not react to it the way it often does to synthetic emulsifiers and silicones. Unlike conventional cream bases that leave a silicone film on the surface of skin, our tallow base absorbs clean — no greasiness, no residue, no synthetic coating. Combined with raw wildflower honey for its natural humectant and antioxidant properties, the tallow base creates the ideal delivery vehicle for our full peptide and botanical complex.
Our formula is built around a clean, active-rich ingredient list with no synthetic fillers, no parabens, no silicones, and no artificial fragrance. Full ingredient list: 100% Grass-Fed Tallow, Hyaluronic Acid, Niacinamide, Hydrolyzed Collagen, GHK-Cu (Copper Tripeptide-1), Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5, Stephania Tetrandra Root Extract, Calendula Extract, Raw Wildflower Honey. Every ingredient serves a purpose. Nothing is in this formula by accident.

Begin with clean, dry skin. Warm a pea-sized amount of balm between your fingertips for a few seconds — the warmth activates the whipped texture and helps it melt on contact. Press gently into skin using upward motions, working from the center of your face outward. The balm can be used on your face, neck, décolletage, and body. It is suitable for morning and evening use. In the morning follow with your preferred SPF. In the evening the balm works beautifully as a final step after any serums. For best results use consistently for a minimum of 4 to 8 weeks — GHK-Cu works gradually and cumulatively, not overnight.
Yes, with a few simple guidelines. Celvara plays well with most skincare ingredients when layered thoughtfully. With retinol — apply your retinol first, allow it to absorb fully, then apply Celvara on top as a final occlusive step. This combination is highly effective for mature skin. With niacinamide — fully compatible, no interaction concerns, use in either order. With vitamin C (ascorbic acid) — we recommend separating these by at least two hours or using vitamin C in the morning and Celvara in the evening. Direct combination of copper peptides with high-concentration vitamin C can reduce the efficacy of both ingredients. With AHAs and BHAs — apply acids first, allow full absorption, then apply Celvara. Avoid using on broken, freshly exfoliated, or actively irritated skin. If you are new to copper peptides we recommend starting with every other day application for the first two weeks before moving to daily use, allowing your skin to adjust.
We will always be honest with you about this — GHK-Cu is not an overnight ingredient. It works at the cellular level to support your skin's natural processes, which means results develop gradually and cumulatively over weeks of consistent use. Most customers begin noticing improved skin texture and hydration within 2 to 3 weeks. Visible improvements in firmness, fine line appearance, and skin tone typically become apparent between 4 and 8 weeks of consistent daily use. The most significant and lasting results are generally seen at the 10 to 12 week mark. We encourage you to photograph your skin before you start and again at 4 and 8 weeks in consistent lighting — the changes are often more visible in comparison than they are day to day. Patience and consistency are everything with peptide skincare.
Yes. Celvara is formulated without common irritants including synthetic fragrances, parabens, silicones, sulfates, and artificial dyes. The grass-fed tallow base is exceptionally well-tolerated by sensitive skin due to its biological compatibility with human sebum. Raw honey provides natural soothing and antimicrobial properties without irritation. GHK-Cu itself is generally very well-tolerated — it is a naturally occurring peptide that your own body produces. That said, everyone's skin is unique. If you have known allergies to any of our listed ingredients, or if you have a diagnosed skin condition such as eczema, rosacea, or psoriasis, we recommend patch testing on a small area of skin for 24 to 48 hours before full facial application and consulting with your dermatologist if you have any concerns.
Store in a cool, shaded area away from direct sunlight and heat. The balm is stable at room temperature and has a shelf life of 3 years from the production date. Refrigeration is not required but will extend the shelf life and many customers enjoy the cool application sensation. Always use clean, dry hands or a spatula to scoop product from the jar to maintain hygiene and prevent contamination. Avoid storing in bathrooms with high humidity and temperature fluctuation if possible — a bedroom dresser or vanity in a temperature-controlled room is ideal.
